It is one of the most beautiful towns of old Galicia, proud of its architecture and art, created through the ages by European masters and paid for by great fortunes. It is also a birthplace of many industries – a perfect place to learn about the history of glassmaking and glass art, about the oil lamp industry and its founding fathers, and many world-famous inventors and pioneers of technology. And yet, it is still fresh, intact and not fully discovered.
It is the only place where you can drink Hungarian wine in a glass you have made yourself in a furnace hidden under the Old Town full of amazing monuments built with money made on trading this wine by a high-spending Scot or with the money brought, together with two Queens of Poland, by a royal courtier in love with his own sister.
